Tail of Majesty

This tailored single-breasted tailcoat is inspired by the layered beauty and symbolism of the peacock feather. Crafted from navy blue gabardine twill, it features a dropped shoulder and a plunged shawl collar, offering a classic silhouette from the back and the front with a quiet touch of drama. The front displays a hand yarn- embroidered peacock body, framed by an iridescent teal poly lining at the back that mirrors the shimmer and movement of a peacock’s tail. By reversing the feather’s natural palette, placing deep ink-blue as the dominant color and teal as the accent, I aimed to express balance, restraint, and hidden opulence. The piece is a study in contrast: timeless on the outside, luminous within.
